Confusion . . .
I forgot to mention that when I met with my primary care physician last Thursday he confirmed that the heart murmur is barely detectable now. But he was quick to point out that this is not necessarily a good thing because it can mean that the mitral valve is no longer functional and that the blood is flowing through that opening “like a hose”. Excuse me, but is this the point where I should collapse on the floor or can I continue with my daily 3-mile hikes? If my heart is that compromised, shouldn’t it be slowing me down a little bit? I’m confused – did God put extra, unnecessary parts in our hearts? If so, it was his second biggest mistake. His biggest mistake, of course, was bell peppers.
