Half a horse pill . . .
Now we’re getting somewhere. I phoned my GP that prescribed the Lasix, complaining of ringing in the ears and excessive weight loss. He advised me to cut the dose in half – from 40 mg down to 20 mg. (Turns out I don’t have to reduce the complementary potassium dosage as that had been “slightly under-prescribed” at 10 meq.) So I guess if I enter any horse races I only run the risk of bleeding from one nostril. Small victory, but I’ll take it.
