Single-handedly propping up the federal government . . .

. . . by heavy patronization of the US Postal Service. Another express mailing yesterday. Three more today.

Chest CT scans and cover letters to cardiac surgeons at SF1 and SF2. Is the heart tumor resectable? Advisable under the circumstances?

Complete package of medical records, including biopsy slide, dating back to 1992 sent to LA2 for review prior to next week’s consultation regarding their clinical trial.

Another complete package sent to the renegade NY doctor (henceforth referred to as NY2). At their request, this package included a sample of my hair. Now ordinarily this would fall squarely in the nutballery category and would be immediately dismissed from further consideration. But it’s hard to argue with this guy’s credentials: graduated from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, completed postgraduate studies at Columbia, and received his medical degree from Cornell Medical College. Postgraduate immunology fellowship under a doctor considered the father of modern immunology. Treats advanced cancer with an aggressive nutritional program involving large doses of proteolytic enzymes as well as dietary manipulation, nutritional supplement support, and detoxification. Ah yes, but let’s see if he can impress a mechanical engineer that eschews a beautiful house to sleep in a tiny tent in Los Olivos . . .

Although NY2 is largely discredited by the conventional medical community, that particular community does not have much to offer me at this point. So I continue to tread along the outer fringes of the “health care” industry . . .

By the way, it’s a great time to visit NY. I got roundtrip airfare for $277, LAX to JFK to LAX, nonstop flights on the tumor express. How they can do this given the price of fuel today is beyond me. I think I'll pack a parachute.
