We just got back from LA following Round 2 of infusion, blood tests, and PET scan (which as a bonus includes a radioactive isotope injection). I’ve been stuck with more needles than a junkie on payday. Here I am, absorbing all the chimps I can through my right arm, music blasting on the iPod. All in all, a surreal way to spend a Thursday afternoon . . .
The trips to LA are taxing on me, and the infusions appear to make me tired and uncomfortable, so this is just a short post to say hi, back home safe and sound. Time to crawl into that comfort zone and visit another world . . . see you back on earth tomorrow.

That's a great picture. Happy soaring tonight. Sleep well. K
Cute picture, and where did you get that cool shirt? You look good, even though you're tired. Thanks for the kudos on the blog...Tracey says hi and she loves you.
Wow! Check out my good looking brother in that styling shirt we bought him. People Magazine should have this shot for the sexiest man alive issue! I were very touched by the honorable mentions you gave us on your blog. Right back at you, Paul-I also love you then, now and forever! Plus, you're my very favorite brother.
I don't think you remember me because I only met you twice but I never forgot those piercing blue eyes. I'm Melody's Aunt and I became addicted to your blog. Your writing ability and humor through your ordeal as made me laugh, & cry & laugh somemore. I only hope that if I ever have to go through something like this, I would the spirit & fight and strength you have shown. Your words need to be published. You are an inspiration to all of us. You are in my prayers & thoughts every day. Rox
Hi Paul, My name is Lauren and I am a highschool friend of Jason Hanlin. He posted your blog on facebook. I work as a Oncology Clinical Trial Manager at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, TN. Thank you for your blog. My days are filled with the tiny details of cancer research. It can be so frustrating and overwhelming. I needed a little perspective today. I can't help with you care but hopefully, you can help with the work I do for the patients on my studies.
Paul I hope you have a wonderful Thandsgiving with your whole family helping.
It's time for Mom to weigh in to tell you how incredibly proud of you for the strength, courage, and wisdom you have shown in the battle with this "faceless, heartless, soulless non-entity whose entire meaning is derived solely from what it takes from us." Please know that it can never take away your beautiful heart and soul or the words you have used to let us see into them.
There is so much to be proud of-- your scholastic and professional accomplishments and all the ways over the years in which you have excelled. (A special high point for me was the trumpet duet --Bach's "My Spirit Be Joyful" on Easter Sunday when you were l5. Taylor once had an assignment to write about a Renaissance Man and he chose you. Right on, Taylor!
One benefit to result from this life-changing experience has been the discovery and appreciation between you and your sisters. You have come to recognize and appreciate each other for the unique, special, and caring people I have always known you to be. It warms my heart.
We rejoice with you on your good days and agonize with you on the not-so-good ones.
I am proud to be your Mom, and love you then, now, and always.
See you Thursday.

I love this picture of you! It absolutely captures your incredible spirit! Go Chimps Go!!! I always did like monkeys. Thanks for continuing to share this journey. It's inspirational on so many levels and reaffirms what I always knew...you're so special (and not in the short bus kind of way...HA!) Love, Jill
