Battling cancer . . .

. . . is a marathon, not a sprint. Consequently, long stretches of time go by without anything substantive to report other than that I continue to put one foot in front of the other. If I were to trip and fall, or be the beneficiary of a sudden burst of energy, I would promptly post such news to this blog. So in the absence of such missives, you may safely assume that I continue to slog forward toward a distant finish line of uncertain disposition . . .

Ten days ago I completed my fourth round of chemotherapy. As previously reported, these treatments knock me down for about a week, followed by two weeks of clear sailing before the cycle repeats itself. One step backward, two steps forward . . .

A CT scan is performed every six weeks – the next one is scheduled for this Thursday. I’ll post the results by end of the week. While the tumors may or may not be shrinking (let’s wait for the imaging study before making that pronouncement), the palpable ones certainly seem to be softening. So that’s encouraging anyway. In the meantime, left, right, left, right, left, right . . .

It was so great to see you this weekend Uncle Paul! The whole weekend turned out to be way more than any of us expected. It was such a nice surprise to have you drive down for dinner on Friday night as well. We always thoroughly enjoy spending time at your place and it was really nice having all of us there together, that sure doesn't happen very often! Thank you again for a wonderful weekend, a spectacular dinner and putting up with our little spoiled little thing of a dog, Marklee. Can't wait to do it again!
