"The doctor’s office is failing miserably. You need to start finding some possibilities of a backup doctor. Try to find at least three others. This serves two purposes. The first is if this moron does not respond you have other options. Additionally, it gives you the chance for multiple opinions. Get on it now. I do not any longer believe the mantra "this doctor is God". You need to start investigating other doctors. This guy can't even take it out anyway."
What may not be clear here is that when this issue first arose fifteen years ago, I personally saw five different doctors at the most prestigious medical institutions in Los Angeles. And spoke with countless other specialists scattered across the country. One doctor’s name came up in nearly every conversation. And when I spoke with that doctor in NY he impressed me with his expertise and common sense approach. Leaving the details for another post, suffice it to say that the medical opinion I had received in Southern California fifteen years ago was worthless at best. So I would rather wait for quality opinion that may be slow to arrive than hang my hat on garbage opinion that is quickly dispensed. Sorry, but that is not negotiable.
It has also been suggested that I adopt my son’s strategy of relentless harassment until I receive the information I’m seeking. He would not set the phone down until he’d spoken with every staff member in the office, repeated the question, and explained the situation to each of them. He's an expert at that. And that’s a very effective way to get most things done. The difference here is that these people may actually have me under anesthesia someday, so I need to apply pressure just short of them all wanting me dead. So I maintain my schedule of twice-a-day calls . . .
